Role Overview
As a Pet Trainer in Kentwood, Michigan, you'll engage pet parents and pets, delivering positive training experiences aligned with PetSmart's vision. Actively promote and sell classes while ensuring safety and excellence in every interaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide exceptional pet parent experiences via phone, in-person, or online; resolve concerns promptly.
- Drive sales of training classes and educate on curriculum benefits.
- Maintain all training paperwork, schedules, and store-area cleanliness.
- Serve as training expert, educating associates and recognizing contributions.
- Ensure safe environments; handle sick/injured pets and recommend services/merchandise.
- Flex to other departments, follow policies, and foster belonging.
Experience & Skills
Require 1-2 years customer-focused retail experience and PetSmart Training Instructor accreditation. Excel with computer proficiency, composure under pressure, flexible scheduling (evenings/weekends/holidays), organizational detail, and strong communication. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing, and animal exposure in moderate-noise settings.
