Role Overview

PetSmart's Pet Trainer delivers positive reinforcement-based training classes, engages pet parents, and drives sales of our proven curriculum. You'll be the go-to expert in your store, ensuring safe, fun experiences that build lifelong pet bonds. This role demands energy, pet passion, and customer focus in a dynamic retail environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead group and private training sessions, managing pet parent interactions via phone, in-person, or online.
• Actively promote and sell training packages while educating on curriculum benefits.
• Maintain accurate records, schedule classes, and keep training areas clean and safe.
• Handle emergencies like sick/injured pets, recommending vet care as needed.
• Collaborate across departments, recognize team sales efforts, and embody our Belonging culture.

Experience & Skills

Seeking candidates with 1-2 years retail experience, PetSmart Training Instructor accreditation, computer proficiency, strong communication, and composure under pressure. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing/walking extensively, and exposure to pets, noise, and wet areas. Flexible scheduling for evenings, weekends, and holidays required.
