Role Overview
PetSmart's Pet Trainer delivers positive training experiences using our proven curriculum. You'll engage pet parents, sell classes, ensure safety, and act as the store's training expert in King of Prussia, PA. This role combines pet passion with customer service, sales, and education in a dynamic retail setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide exceptional pet parent experiences via phone, in-person, or online; address concerns promptly.
- Actively sell and schedule training classes while educating on curriculum benefits.
- Maintain all training paperwork, cleanliness, and a safe environment for pets and people.
- Recognize associates for training sales contributions and assist other departments as needed.
- Handle sick/injured pets immediately, recommend merchandise, and follow company policies.
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates have 1-2 years retail experience, PetSmart Training Instructor accreditation, computer proficiency, strong communication, and organizational skills. Must handle pressure, lift 50+ lbs, stand extensively, and work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Exposure to pets, noise, and wet environments is common; reasonable accommodations available.
