Role Overview

PetSmart's Pet Trainer delivers positive reinforcement-based training classes, engages pet parents, and drives sales of our proven curriculum. This dynamic role combines animal expertise, customer service, and sales in a fun retail pet environment. Ensure safe, clean training spaces and collaborate across departments to uphold our mission.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead in-person, phone, and online training sessions while managing pet parent experiences and outcomes.
• Actively promote and sell group/private training classes, educating on curriculum benefits.
• Maintain all training records, schedules, and store areas for safety and presentation.
• Recognize team contributions, assist with sick/injured pets, and recommend merchandise/services.
• Follow company policies, participate in recognition culture, and support other departments as needed.

Experience & Skills

Ideal candidates bring 1-2 years retail/customer service experience, PetSmart Training Instructor accreditation, computer proficiency, composure under pressure, schedule flexibility, and strong communication/organizational skills. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing/walking, pet handling in moderate-noise/wet environments with animals.
