Role Overview
PetSmart's Pet Trainer delivers expert training services, engages pet parents, and drives sales of our proven curriculum. You'll foster safe, positive environments in our Lake Mary store, handling everything from class scheduling to emergency pet care.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide exceptional pet parent experiences via phone, in-person, or online, addressing concerns promptly.
- Sell training classes proactively and educate on curriculum benefits.
- Maintain all training paperwork, schedules, and clean, safe class areas.
- Act as training expert for store associates, recognizing their sales efforts.
- Respond to sick/injured pets, transport to vets if needed, and cross-assist other departments.
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates bring 1-2 years retail experience, PetSmart Training Instructor accreditation, computer skills, and flexibility for evenings/weekends/holidays. Strong communication, organization, and composure under pressure are essential, along with physical ability to lift 50+ lbs, stand extensively, and work in pet-filled environments.
