Role Overview

PetSmart's Pet Trainer delivers positive reinforcement-based training classes, engages pet parents, and drives sales of our comprehensive pet training programs. Based in Lake Park, Florida, this role combines animal care, customer service, and education to foster happy, well-behaved pets and satisfied families.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead group and private training sessions following PetSmart's accredited curriculum.
• Actively promote and sell training packages in-store, online, and via phone.
• Ensure a safe, clean training environment and respond to pet health emergencies.
• Educate store associates as the pet training expert and maintain all related documentation.
• Collaborate across departments to recommend services and merchandise.

Experience & Skills

Ideal candidates bring 1-2 years of customer-focused retail experience, PetSmart Training Instructor accreditation, computer proficiency, and strong communication skills. Physical demands include lifting up to 50 lbs, standing for extended periods, and handling live animals in a dynamic pet retail setting. Flexibility for evenings, weekends, and holidays is essential.
