Role Overview

PetSmart's Pet Trainer is the go-to expert for pet training services, delivering positive experiences that strengthen bonds between pets and parents. You'll engage customers in-store, online, or by phone, promoting our proven curriculum while ensuring safety and satisfaction. This role combines hands-on pet interaction, sales savvy, and team leadership in a fast-paced pet retail setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead training classes, educate pet parents, and resolve concerns for optimal outcomes.
• Actively sell classes and merchandise while maintaining all related paperwork.
• Create safe, clean training environments and respond to pet health emergencies.
• Train store associates as the pet training subject matter expert and schedule classes per company guidelines.
• Collaborate across departments, follow policies, and participate in our Belonging culture.

Experience & Skills

Ideal candidates bring 1-2 years of customer-focused retail experience and PetSmart Training Instructor accreditation. Proficiency in computers, strong communication, organizational skills, and composure under pressure are essential. Physical demands include lifting up to 50 lbs, standing for shifts, and handling live animals in a moderate-noise environment with pet hair exposure. Flexible availability for evenings, weekends, and holidays required.
