Role Overview

PetSmart's Pet Trainer delivers positive training experiences, educates pet parents, and upholds our vision of exceptional pet care. You'll engage customers in-store, online, or by phone, sell classes, and ensure safe, clean environments. This dynamic role combines animal handling, sales, and teamwork in a pet-loving retail setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead training classes following PetSmart curriculum and manage pet parent interactions.
• Actively promote and sell training programs across channels.
• Maintain records, schedules, and hygiene standards in training areas.
• Handle emergencies like sick pets, collaborate with store team, and recommend products.
• Foster a safe space and participate in company culture initiatives.

Experience & Skills

Ideal candidates bring 1-2 years of customer-focused retail experience and PetSmart Training Instructor accreditation. Proficiency in computers, strong communication, organizational skills, and composure under pressure are essential. Flexibility for evenings, weekends, and holidays is required. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing, and exposure to pets/noise.
