Role Overview
PetSmart's Pet Trainer delivers positive training experiences, educates pet parents, and upholds our vision of exceptional pet care. Based in Lawrence, Kansas, this role involves hands-on training, sales, and ensuring safety in a dynamic retail setting with live animals.
Key Responsibilities
- Engage pet parents via phone, in-person, or online to sell and deliver training classes.
- Maintain paperwork, schedule classes, and keep training areas clean and safe.
- Handle sick/injured pets, recommend merchandise, and assist other departments.
- Act as training expert, educating associates and recognizing contributions.
- Follow all policies while fostering a culture of belonging.
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates have 1-2 years retail experience, PetSmart Training Instructor accreditation, computer proficiency, strong communication, and flexibility for evenings/weekends. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing, and exposure to pets/noise.
