Role Overview

PetSmart's Pet Trainer delivers positive reinforcement-based training classes, engages pet parents, and upholds our vision of exceptional pet care. You'll actively promote and sell training services while ensuring safe, clean environments in our Lethbridge store. This dynamic role combines animal expertise, customer service, and sales in a pet-loving retail setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead pet training sessions via in-person, phone, or online, managing pet parent experiences and outcomes.
• Proactively sell classes and educate on curriculum benefits; handle concerns professionally.
• Maintain all training paperwork, schedules, and store-area cleanliness/safety.
• Act as training expert for associates, recognize sales contributions, and assist other departments.
• Respond to sick/injured pets, recommend merchandise, and follow all company policies.

Experience & Skills

Ideal candidates bring 1-2 years retail/customer service experience, PetSmart Training Instructor accreditation, computer proficiency, composure under pressure, schedule flexibility, organizational skills, and strong communication. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing/walking, pet handling in moderate-noise/wet environments with animals.
