Role Overview
PetSmart's Pet Trainer delivers positive training experiences, educates pet parents, and upholds our vision of exceptional pet care. Based in Lewisville, Texas, you'll engage customers in-store, online, or by phone, sell classes, and ensure safe, clean training spaces. This role suits animal lovers with retail experience ready to thrive in a dynamic pet retail setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead pet training classes following PetSmart's curriculum, prioritizing pet parent satisfaction and outcomes.
- Actively promote and sell training programs across channels while addressing concerns.
- Maintain accurate paperwork, schedules, and training areas for safety and presentation.
- Serve as training expert, educating associates and recognizing sales contributions.
- Handle emergencies like sick pets, recommend merchandise, and assist other departments as needed.
Experience & Skills
Requires 1-2 years customer-focused retail experience and accreditation in PetSmart's Training Instructor Course. Proficiency in computers, strong communication, organization, and composure under pressure are essential. Flexibility for evenings, weekends, holidays mandatory. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing, and exposure to pets/noise.
