Role Overview

PetSmart's Pet Trainer delivers positive training experiences using our proven curriculum. Engage pet parents in-store, by phone, or online, sell classes, ensure safety, and act as the training expert. This role demands energy, pet passion, and customer focus in a dynamic retail environment with live animals.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead training classes, educate on curriculum benefits, and resolve pet parent concerns.
• Actively sell classes across channels and recommend merchandise/services.
• Maintain paperwork, schedules, clean training areas, and store safety.
• Handle sick/injured pets, assist other departments, and recognize team sales efforts.
• Uphold company policies, culture of belonging, and create safe spaces.

Physical Demands

Stand/walk extensively, lift up to 50lbs (team lift 100lbs+), handle animals in moderate noise/wet environments with pet hair. Depth perception required; reasonable accommodations available.

Experience & Skills

• 1-2 years customer-focused retail experience.
• PetSmart Training Instructor accreditation.
• Computer proficiency, strong communication, organization, composure under pressure.
• Flexible availability for evenings, weekends, holidays.
