Role Overview

PetSmart's Pet Trainer delivers positive training experiences, educates pet parents, and upholds our vision of exceptional pet care. You'll engage customers in-store, online, or by phone, sell classes, and maintain safety while fostering a welcoming environment. This role suits animal lovers with retail experience ready to excel in a dynamic pet retail setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead training classes following PetSmart's curriculum, ensuring safe, clean spaces.
• Actively sell and schedule classes; educate on benefits across all channels.
• Handle pet parent interactions, concerns, and outcomes professionally.
• Maintain records, recognize team contributions, and assist other departments.
• Respond to sick/injured pets, recommend services, and promote merchandise.

Experience & Skills

Required Qualifications

• 1-2 years customer-focused retail experience.
• PetSmart Training Instructor Course accreditation.
• Computer proficiency, strong communication, and organizational skills.
• Flexibility for evenings, weekends, holidays; composure under pressure.

Physical Demands

Stand/walk extensively, lift up to 50lbs (team lift 100lbs+), handle animals in moderate-noise, pet-hair-filled environments. Depth perception and agility required.
