Role Overview

PetSmart's Pet Trainer delivers positive training experiences using our proven curriculum. You'll engage pet parents, sell classes, ensure safety, and act as the store's training expert. This dynamic role combines animal care, customer service, and sales in a fun pet retail setting. Full-time position with flexible scheduling including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Essential Physical Demands

Stand, walk, lift up to 50 lbs (team lift 100+ lbs), handle animals in moderate noise/wet environments with pet hair exposure. Depth perception required; reasonable accommodations available.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional pet parent experiences via phone, in-person, or online; resolve concerns promptly.
• Actively sell and schedule training classes while educating on curriculum benefits.
• Maintain all training paperwork and keep areas clean/safe.
• Train store associates as subject matter expert and recognize sales contributions.
• Handle sick/injured pets, recommend merchandise, assist other departments, and follow policies.

Experience & Skills

Seeking candidates with 1-2 years customer-focused retail experience, PetSmart Training Instructor accreditation, computer proficiency, composure under pressure, strong communication, and organizational skills. Passion for pets and sales ability essential.
