Role Overview

PetSmart's Pet Training Instructor engages pet parents and pets, delivering positive training experiences aligned with our vision, mission, values, and strategy. Actively promote and sell classes while ensuring safety and exceptional service in a dynamic retail environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide outstanding pet parent experiences via phone, in-person, or online; resolve concerns promptly.
• Actively sell training classes and educate on curriculum benefits.
• Maintain all training paperwork, schedules, and clean, safe class areas.
• Serve as training expert for store associates; recognize sales contributions.
• Handle sick/injured pets immediately, including vet transport if needed.
• Recommend merchandise/services and assist other departments as required.
• Participate in Belonging and Recognition culture; follow all policies.

Experience & Skills

Ideal candidates bring 1-2 years retail experience, PetSmart Training Instructor accreditation, computer proficiency, composure under pressure, schedule flexibility, organizational skills, and strong communication. Physical demands include lifting up to 50lbs (team lift 100lbs+), standing, stooping, and exposure to pets, noise, and wet areas.
