Role Overview
As a Pet Trainer in Lufkin, TX, you'll engage pet parents and pets, delivering positive training experiences aligned with PetSmart's vision. Actively promote and sell classes, educate on curriculum benefits, and ensure safety. This role demands flexibility, pet passion, and customer focus in a dynamic retail environment with live animals.
Essential Physical Demands
Stand, walk, lift up to 50lbs (team lift 100lbs+), climb ladders, stoop, kneel. Exposed to pet hair, noise, mechanical parts, wet areas. Depth perception required; accommodations available.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide exceptional pet parent experiences via phone, in-person, online; resolve concerns.
- Sell training classes and merchandise proactively.
- Maintain paperwork, schedule classes, keep areas clean/safe.
- Educate associates as training expert; recognize contributions.
- Handle sick/injured pets, assist other departments, follow policies.
Experience & Skills
Require 1-2 years customer-focused retail, PetSmart Training Instructor accreditation, computer proficiency, composure under pressure, flexible scheduling, strong organization/communication. Passion for pets essential.
