Role Overview

As a Pet Trainer in Manahawkin, New Jersey, you'll engage pet parents and their pets, delivering positive training experiences aligned with PetSmart’s vision, mission, values, and strategy. Actively promote and sell training services while ensuring safety and outstanding customer outcomes via phone, in-person, or online.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional pet parent experiences and resolve concerns promptly.
• Actively sell training classes across channels and educate on curriculum benefits.
• Maintain all training paperwork, schedule classes, and keep areas clean/safe.
• Serve as subject matter expert, recognizing associates for training sales contributions.
• Handle sick/injured pets, recommend merchandise/services, and assist other departments.
• Follow all company policies while participating in store culture.

Experience & Skills

Ideal candidates bring 1-2 years retail experience, PetSmart Training Instructor accreditation, computer proficiency, composure under pressure, schedule flexibility, organizational skills, and strong communication. Physical demands include lifting up to 50lbs (team lift 100lbs+), standing/walking, and exposure to pets, noise, and wet environments. Depth perception and reasonable accommodations available.
