Role Overview

As a Pet Trainer at our Maple, Ontario store, you'll engage pet parents and pets, delivering positive training experiences aligned with PetSmart's vision. Actively promote and sell classes while ensuring safety and exceptional service. This role suits animal lovers with retail experience ready to flex evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide outstanding pet parent experiences via phone, in-person, or online; resolve concerns promptly.
• Actively sell training classes and educate on curriculum benefits.
• Maintain all training paperwork and schedule classes per company guidelines.
• Ensure safe, clean training areas; handle sick/injured pets including vet transport if needed.
• Train store associates as pet training expert and recognize sales contributions.
• Recommend merchandise/services and assist other departments as required.

Experience & Skills

Required Qualifications

• 1-2 years customer-focused retail experience.
• PetSmart Training Instructor Course accreditation.
• Computer proficiency, strong communication, and organizational skills.
• Flexibility for varied shifts; composure under pressure.

Physical Demands

Stand/walk extensively, lift up to 50lbs (team lift 100lbs+), handle pets in moderate-noise, pet-hair environment with occasional wet areas or mechanical parts. Depth perception required.
