Role Overview

As a Pet Trainer in our Martinsburg, WV store, you'll engage pet parents and their pets, delivering positive training experiences aligned with PetSmart's vision. Actively promote and sell classes while ensuring safety, cleanliness, and exceptional service. This role suits animal enthusiasts with retail experience ready to make a difference.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide pet training services via phone, in-person, or online, managing parent experiences and outcomes.
• Actively sell and schedule training classes while educating on curriculum benefits.
• Maintain paperwork, training areas, and store safety; handle sick/injured pets promptly.
• Collaborate with associates as training expert, recommend merchandise, and assist other departments.
• Uphold company policies, participate in recognition culture, and ensure clean, safe environments.

Experience & Skills

Required Qualifications

• 1-2 years customer-focused retail experience.
• PetSmart Training Instructor Course accreditation.
• Computer proficiency, strong communication, and organizational skills.
• Flexibility for evenings, weekends, holidays; composure under pressure.

Physical Demands

Stand/walk extensively, lift up to 50lbs (team lift 100lbs+), handle animals in moderate noise/wet environments with pet hair exposure. Depth perception required; reasonable accommodations available.
