Role Overview
As a Pet Trainer at our Mason, Ohio store, you'll engage pet parents and pets, delivering positive reinforcement training per PetSmart's proven curriculum. Actively promote classes, ensure safety, and drive sales while fostering an inclusive environment. This role suits animal lovers with retail experience ready for flexible, hands-on work.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead training classes, managing pet parent experiences via phone, in-person, or online.
- Sell and schedule classes, educating on curriculum benefits.
- Maintain clean, safe training areas; handle sick/injured pets promptly.
- Track paperwork, recognize associate contributions, and cross-train team.
- Recommend merchandise and assist other departments as needed.
Experience & Skills
Require 1-2 years customer-focused retail, PetSmart Training Instructor accreditation, computer proficiency, and flexibility for evenings/weekends/holidays. Excel with strong communication, organization, composure under pressure, and physical ability to lift 50+ lbs in a pet-filled environment.
