Role Overview

PetSmart's Pet Trainer delivers positive reinforcement-based training classes, engages pet parents, and drives sales of our proven curriculum. This role ensures safe, fun experiences for dogs and owners while upholding company values in a dynamic retail environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead group and private training sessions, managing pet parent interactions via phone, in-person, or online.
• Actively promote and sell training packages, educating on curriculum benefits.
• Maintain accurate records, schedule classes, and keep training areas clean and safe.
• Handle emergencies like sick pets, recommend services, and assist other departments.
• Serve as training expert, recognizing team sales efforts.

Experience & Skills

Requires 1-2 years customer-focused retail experience, PetSmart Training Instructor accreditation, computer proficiency, strong communication, and composure under pressure. Must lift 50+ lbs, handle animals in moderate-noise/wet environments, and work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
