Role Overview

PetSmart's Pet Trainer delivers positive reinforcement-based training classes, engages pet parents, and drives sales of our proven curriculum. This role combines hands-on pet interaction, customer education, and store support in a dynamic retail environment. Ideal for animal lovers with retail experience seeking flexible, rewarding work.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead training sessions over phone, in-person, or online while ensuring pet parent satisfaction and outcomes.
• Actively promote and sell group/private classes, educating on curriculum benefits.
• Maintain accurate paperwork, schedules, and clean training areas; respond to pet health emergencies.
• Collaborate with store team as training expert, recommend merchandise, and assist other departments.
• Uphold safety, follow policies, and foster a culture of recognition.

Experience & Skills

Requires 1-2 years customer-focused retail experience, PetSmart Training Instructor accreditation, computer proficiency, strong communication, and composure under pressure. Must lift 50+ lbs, handle live animals in moderate-noise/wet environments, and work flexible hours including evenings/weekends/holidays. Physical demands include standing, stooping, and depth perception.
