Role Overview
As a Pet Trainer at our Mays Landing store, you'll engage pet parents and pets, delivering positive reinforcement training via PetSmart's proven curriculum. Actively promote classes, ensure safety, and drive sales while fostering exceptional experiences. This role suits animal lovers with retail savvy, offering flexibility and purpose.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct training classes, managing pet parent interactions over phone, in-person, or online.
- Proactively sell and schedule classes, educating on curriculum benefits.
- Maintain paperwork, clean training areas, and create safe environments.
- Handle sick/injured pets, recommend services, and assist other departments.
- Recognize team contributions and follow all policies.
Experience & Skills
Require 1-2 years customer-focused retail, PetSmart Training Instructor accreditation, computer proficiency, composure under pressure, flexible scheduling, and strong communication. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing, handling animals in moderate-noise, pet-hair environments.
