Role Overview

As a Pet Trainer in our McAllen, Texas store, you'll engage pet parents and their furry friends, delivering positive training experiences aligned with PetSmart's vision. Actively promote and conduct classes using our proven curriculum, ensuring safe, fun environments that build lasting customer loyalty.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional pet parent experiences via phone, in-person, or online, addressing concerns promptly.
• Drive sales of training classes and related merchandise across channels.
• Maintain all training paperwork, schedules, and store areas for cleanliness and safety.
• Educate associates as the pet training expert and recognize sales contributions.
• Handle sick/injured pets immediately, including vet transport if needed, and assist other departments.

Experience & Skills

Ideal candidates bring 1-2 years of customer-focused retail experience and PetSmart Training Instructor accreditation. Proficiency in computers, strong communication, organizational skills, and composure under pressure are essential. Flexibility for evenings, weekends, and holidays required. Physically, expect standing, lifting up to 50lbs (team lift 100lbs+), and exposure to pets, noise, and wet areas.
