Role Overview
PetSmart's Pet Trainer delivers exceptional training services, engages pet parents, and upholds our vision of positive pet experiences. Accredited through our Training Instructor Course, you'll educate on curriculum benefits, sell classes, and ensure safety in a dynamic retail environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide outstanding pet parent experiences via phone, in-person, or online, addressing concerns promptly.
- Actively promote and sell training classes across channels while maintaining all related paperwork.
- Create safe, clean training environments and handle pet health emergencies, including vet transport.
- Educate store associates as the pet training expert and recognize sales contributions.
- Assist other departments, recommend products, and follow all company policies.
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates bring 1-2 years of customer-focused retail experience, PetSmart Training Instructor accreditation, computer proficiency, and strong communication skills. Must thrive under pressure, stay organized, and flex for evenings, weekends, and holidays. Physical demands include lifting up to 50 lbs, handling animals, and working in moderate-noise, pet-filled settings.
