Role Overview
As a Pet Trainer at our Merriam store, you'll engage pet parents and their furry friends, delivering positive reinforcement training per PetSmart's proven curriculum. Actively promote classes, ensure safety, and contribute to store success while working flexibly across evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead pet training sessions, managing pet parent experiences via phone, in-person, or online.
- Drive sales by educating on curriculum benefits and recommending merchandise/services.
- Maintain paperwork, schedules, and a clean, safe training environment.
- Handle emergencies like sick/injured pets, transporting to vets as needed.
- Train associates as subject matter expert and assist other departments.
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates bring 1-2 years customer-focused retail experience, PetSmart Training Instructor accreditation, computer proficiency, and composure under pressure. Strong communication, organization, and pet-handling skills required. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing, and exposure to pets/noise.
