Role Overview

PetSmart's Pet Trainer delivers positive training experiences, educates pet parents, and upholds our vision of exceptional pet care. Based in our Middletown store, you'll engage customers in-person, by phone, or online, selling classes and ensuring safe, fun environments for pets and people.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead training sessions following PetSmart curriculum while prioritizing pet parent satisfaction.
• Actively promote and sell training packages across channels.
• Maintain records, schedule classes, and keep training areas clean and safe.
• Handle emergencies like sick pets, recommend services, and assist other departments.
• Educate store associates as the pet training expert.

Experience & Skills

Ideal candidates bring 1-2 years of customer-focused retail experience and PetSmart Training Instructor accreditation. Proficiency in computers, strong communication, organizational skills, and composure under pressure are essential. Flexibility for evenings, weekends, and holidays is required. Physically, expect standing, lifting up to 50lbs (team lifts over 100lbs), and exposure to pets, noise, and wet areas.
