Role Overview

As a Pet Trainer in Midlothian, Virginia, you'll engage pet parents and pets, delivering positive training experiences aligned with PetSmart's vision. Actively promote and sell classes while ensuring safety and excellence in every interaction. This role suits animal lovers with retail experience ready to educate and inspire.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional pet parent experiences via phone, in-person, or online, resolving concerns promptly.
• Actively sell training classes and educate on curriculum benefits.
• Maintain all training paperwork and schedule classes per company guidelines.
• Ensure safe, clean training areas and respond to sick/injured pets, including vet transport if needed.
• Collaborate across departments, recommend merchandise, and recognize team contributions.

Experience & Skills

Required Qualifications

• 1-2 years customer-focused retail experience.
• PetSmart Training Instructor Course accreditation.
• Strong communication, organizational skills, and computer proficiency.
• Flexibility for evenings, weekends, holidays; composure under pressure.

Physical Demands

Stand/walk extensively, lift up to 50 lbs (team lift 100+ lbs), handle pets in moderate-noise, pet-hair environment with occasional wet/mechanical exposures. Depth perception required.
