Role Overview
PetSmart's Pet Trainer delivers exceptional training services, engages pet parents, and upholds our vision of positive pet experiences. You'll educate on training benefits, sell classes across channels, and maintain safety in a dynamic store environment. This role suits animal lovers with retail experience ready to thrive in a fast-paced, pet-filled setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide outstanding pet parent experiences via phone, in-person, or online; address concerns promptly.
- Actively promote and sell training classes while demonstrating curriculum value.
- Schedule classes, manage paperwork, and ensure clean, safe training areas.
- Handle pet health issues, recommend products/services, and support store teams.
- Serve as training expert, recognize contributions, and participate in company culture.
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates have 1-2 years customer-focused retail experience and PetSmart Training Instructor accreditation. Proficiency in computers, strong communication, organization, and composure under pressure are essential. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing/walking, and exposure to pets/noise. Flexible availability for evenings, weekends, holidays required.
