Role Overview
PetSmart's Pet Trainer delivers positive reinforcement-based training classes, engages pet parents, and drives sales of our proven curriculum. You'll be the go-to expert in your store, ensuring safe, fun experiences for dogs and their owners while contributing to store success through cross-department support.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead in-person, phone, and online training sessions with exceptional pet parent experiences.
- Actively promote and sell group/private classes, educating on curriculum benefits.
- Maintain accurate records, schedule sessions, and keep training areas clean/safe.
- Handle sick/injured pets promptly, recommend services/merchandise, and assist other areas.
- Foster belonging by recognizing team contributions and following policies.
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates bring 1-2 years retail/customer service experience, PetSmart Training Instructor accreditation, computer proficiency, composure under pressure, scheduling flexibility, and strong communication/organizational skills. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing/walking, pet handling in moderate-noise, pet-hair environments.
