Role Overview

PetSmart Pet Trainers are the heart of our training programs, delivering positive reinforcement-based classes that transform pet behavior and strengthen bonds with owners. You'll engage pet parents in-store, online, or by phone, sell classes, ensure safety, and embody our mission in a dynamic retail environment surrounded by live animals.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct training sessions following PetSmart curriculum while prioritizing pet parent satisfaction and outcomes.
• Actively promote and sell training packages across channels and educate on program benefits.
• Maintain accurate records, schedule classes, and keep training areas clean and safe.
• Handle emergencies like sick pets, assist other departments, and recognize team sales efforts.
• Uphold company policies, foster a culture of belonging, and recommend merchandise/services.

Experience & Skills

Ideal candidates bring 1-2 years of customer-focused retail experience, PetSmart Training Instructor accreditation, computer proficiency, strong communication, and composure under pressure. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing for shifts, and working in pet-filled environments with moderate noise. Flexibility for evenings, weekends, and holidays is essential.
