Role Overview
PetSmart's Pet Trainer delivers positive reinforcement-based training classes, engages pet parents, and drives sales of our proven curriculum. Based in Morrow, Georgia, you'll ensure safe, fun experiences for pets and people while upholding company values.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead training sessions over phone, in-person, or online, managing pet parent experiences and outcomes.
- Actively sell classes and educate on curriculum benefits; recommend merchandise/services.
- Maintain paperwork, schedule classes, and keep training areas clean/safe.
- Handle sick/injured pets, assist other departments, and recognize team contributions.
- Follow policies, participate in recognition culture, and act as training expert for store associates.
Experience & Skills
Requires 1-2 years customer-focused retail experience, PetSmart Training Instructor accreditation, computer proficiency, strong communication/organizational skills, flexibility for evenings/weekends/holidays, and composure under pressure. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing/walking, pet handling in moderate-noise/wet environments with animals.
