Role Overview
PetSmart's Pet Trainer delivers positive reinforcement-based training classes, engages pet parents, and drives sales of our proven curriculum. This role ensures safe, fun experiences for pets and people while upholding our vision of exceptional pet care in a dynamic retail environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead training sessions over phone, in-person, or online, managing pet parent experiences and outcomes.
- Actively promote and sell group/private training classes across channels.
- Maintain all training records, schedules, and store areas for safety and cleanliness.
- Handle sick/injured pets promptly, including vet transport if needed.
- Collaborate across departments, recommend merchandise, and foster a culture of belonging.
Experience & Skills
Seeking candidates with 1-2 years retail/customer service experience, PetSmart Training Instructor accreditation, computer proficiency, strong communication, and composure under pressure. Must lift 50+ lbs, stand extensively, and work flexible hours including evenings/weekends/holidays. Passion for pets and sales acumen required.
