Role Overview
As a Pet Trainer, you'll engage pet parents and pets, delivering positive training experiences aligned with PetSmart's vision. Actively promote and sell classes, ensure safety, and serve as the store's training expert. This dynamic role combines education, sales, and hands-on pet care in a fast-paced retail environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide exceptional pet parent experiences via phone, in-person, or online; resolve concerns promptly.
- Actively sell training classes and educate on curriculum benefits.
- Maintain all training paperwork, schedule classes per company guidelines.
- Ensure clean, safe training areas; handle sick/injured pets immediately.
- Recommend merchandise, assist other departments, and follow all policies.
Experience & Skills
Seeking candidates with 1-2 years customer-focused retail experience and PetSmart Training Instructor accreditation. Must demonstrate computer proficiency, flexibility for evenings/weekends/holidays, strong communication, organization, and composure under pressure. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing, and exposure to pets/noise.
