Role Overview

PetSmart's Pet Trainer engages pet parents and pets to deliver positive training experiences aligned with our vision, mission, and values. You'll promote and conduct classes using our proven curriculum, ensuring safe, fun sessions that build lasting bonds. This role combines education, sales, and hands-on pet care in a dynamic retail setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional pet parent experiences via phone, in-person, or online; address concerns promptly.
• Actively sell and schedule training classes while educating on curriculum benefits.
• Maintain paperwork, cleanliness of training areas, and a safe environment for all.
• Serve as training expert for store associates, recognizing their sales contributions.
• Handle emergencies like sick/injured pets, recommend merchandise, and assist other departments.

Experience & Skills

Ideal candidates bring 1-2 years of customer-focused retail experience and accreditation from the PetSmart Training Instructor Course. Proficiency in computer apps, strong communication, organizational skills, and composure under pressure are essential. Physical ability to stand, lift 50+ lbs, and work in pet-filled environments (including evenings/weekends/holidays) required. Depth perception and team-lifting for heavier loads needed.
