Role Overview
PetSmart Pet Trainers are vital in delivering positive experiences for pets and parents in Muskegon, MI. You'll engage customers, provide expert training using our proven curriculum, and drive sales while ensuring safety. This dynamic role suits animal lovers with retail experience ready to make an impact.
Key Responsibilities
Training & Customer Engagement
- Conduct classes, educate on curriculum benefits, and resolve concerns via phone, in-person, or online.
- Actively sell classes and recommend merchandise/services.
Operations & Safety
- Maintain clean, safe training areas; handle sick/injured pets promptly.
- Manage paperwork, scheduling, and train store associates as SME.
- Assist other departments and follow all policies.
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates have 1-2 years customer-focused retail experience, PetSmart Training Instructor accreditation, computer proficiency, strong communication, and organizational skills. Must handle pressure, lift 50+ lbs, stand extensively, and work flexible hours including evenings/weekends/holidays. Exposure to animals, noise, and wet environments is common.
