Role Overview

PetSmart's Pet Trainer delivers positive reinforcement-based training classes, engages pet parents, and upholds our vision of pet well-being. This dynamic role combines education, sales, and hands-on pet interaction in a fast-paced retail environment, ensuring safe, fun learning for dogs and their owners.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead group and private training sessions following PetSmart's accredited curriculum.
• Actively promote and sell training packages in-store, online, and by phone.
• Respond to pet parent inquiries, manage outcomes, and maintain all related documentation.
• Ensure training areas are clean, safe, and presentable; handle sick/injured pets promptly.
• Educate store associates as training expert and assist other departments as needed.

Experience & Skills

Ideal candidates bring 1-2 years of customer-focused retail experience and PetSmart Training Instructor accreditation. Proficiency in computers, strong communication, organizational skills, and composure under pressure are essential. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing for shifts, and exposure to pets, noise, and wet environments. Flexible availability for evenings, weekends, and holidays required.
