Role Overview
PetSmart's Pet Trainer delivers positive training experiences, educates pet parents, and upholds our vision of exceptional pet care. Based in Newport News, Virginia, this role involves hands-on training, sales, and ensuring a safe, clean environment for classes.
Key Responsibilities
- Engage pet parents via phone, in-person, or online to manage experiences and concerns.
- Actively sell and schedule training classes while promoting curriculum benefits.
- Maintain paperwork, educate store associates, and keep training areas presentable.
- Ensure safety, handle sick/injured pets, and recommend merchandise/services.
- Assist other departments and participate in company culture initiatives.
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates bring 1-2 years of customer-focused retail experience and PetSmart Training Instructor accreditation. Proficiency in computers, strong communication, organizational skills, and flexibility for evenings/weekends are essential. Physical demands include lifting up to 50 lbs, standing, and exposure to pets/noise.
