Role Overview

As a Pet Trainer in Newtown, Pennsylvania, you'll engage pet parents and pets, delivering positive training experiences aligned with PetSmart's vision. Actively promote and sell classes while ensuring safety and excellence in every interaction. This role suits animal lovers with retail experience ready to thrive in a dynamic pet retail environment.

Essential Physical Demands

Stand, walk, lift up to 50 lbs (team lift 100+ lbs), handle animals in moderate noise/wet conditions with pet hair. Depth perception required; reasonable accommodations available.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional pet parent experiences via phone, in-person, or online; resolve concerns promptly.
• Actively sell training classes and educate on curriculum benefits.
• Maintain paperwork, schedule classes, and keep training areas clean/safe.
• Recognize associates for training sales contributions and assist other departments.
• Handle sick/injured pets, recommend merchandise, and follow all policies.

Experience & Skills

• 1-2 years customer-focused retail experience.
• PetSmart Training Instructor accreditation.
• Computer proficiency, pressure handling, flexible scheduling.
• Strong communication, organization, and animal safety focus.
