Role Overview
PetSmart's Pet Trainer engages pet parents and pets to deliver positive training experiences aligned with our vision, mission, and values. You'll educate on training benefits, conduct classes per curriculum, and ensure safety while driving sales and exceptional service.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage pet parent interactions via phone, in-person, or online, resolving concerns and delivering outcomes.
- Sell training classes proactively in-store, phone, and online; educate on full curriculum benefits.
- Maintain paperwork, schedule classes, and keep training areas clean and safe.
- Act as training expert for store associates, recognize contributions, and recommend merchandise/services.
- Respond to sick/injured pets, assist other departments, and uphold company policies.
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates bring 1-2 years retail experience, PetSmart Training Instructor accreditation, computer proficiency, composure under pressure, schedule flexibility, organizational skills, and strong communication. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing, and exposure to pets/noise.
