Role Overview
PetSmart's Pet Trainer delivers positive training experiences, educates pet parents, and upholds our vision. Actively sell classes, manage sessions, and ensure safety in a dynamic pet retail environment. Flexibility for evenings, weekends, and holidays is key in this customer-focused role.
Key Responsibilities
- Engage pet parents via phone, in-person, or online; resolve concerns and sell training packages.
- Conduct classes per curriculum, maintaining paperwork and scheduling.
- Create safe, clean training areas; handle sick/injured pets and transport if needed.
- Educate store associates as training expert; recommend merchandise/services.
- Participate in recognition culture and assist other departments as required.
Experience & Skills
Requires 1-2 years retail experience, PetSmart Training Instructor accreditation, computer proficiency, strong communication, and composure under pressure. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing, stooping, and exposure to pets/noise. Organizational skills and pet passion essential.
