Role Overview
PetSmart's Pet Trainer delivers positive training experiences using our proven curriculum. Based in North Haven, Connecticut, you'll engage pet parents, sell classes, ensure safety, and contribute to store success. This role suits animal lovers with retail experience ready to make an impact.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide exceptional pet parent experiences via phone, in-person, or online, resolving concerns promptly.
- Actively sell and schedule training classes while educating on curriculum benefits.
- Maintain all training paperwork, clean training areas, and create safe environments.
- Recognize associates for training sales and assist in other departments as needed.
- Handle sick/injured pets, recommend merchandise, and follow company policies.
Experience & Skills
Required Qualifications
- 1-2 years customer-focused retail experience
- PetSmart Training Instructor Course accreditation
- Computer proficiency, strong communication, and organizational skills
- Flexible availability for evenings, weekends, holidays
Physical Demands
Stand/walk extensively, lift up to 50 lbs (team lift 100+ lbs), handle pets in moderate noise/wet environments with pet hair exposure.
