Role Overview

As a Pet Trainer at PetSmart Northville, you'll engage pet parents and their furry companions, delivering positive reinforcement-based training per our proven curriculum. Actively promote classes, ensure safety, and foster joyful experiences in a dynamic retail environment. This role suits animal lovers with retail savvy, offering flexibility and hands-on pet interaction.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead in-person, phone, and online training sessions while managing pet parent expectations and outcomes.
• Drive sales by educating on curriculum benefits and recommending merchandise/services.
• Maintain impeccable training areas, handle paperwork, and schedule classes per company standards.
• Ensure safety by monitoring pets, responding to illnesses/injuries, and creating secure class environments.
• Collaborate across departments, recognize team sales efforts, and embody PetSmart's values.

Experience & Skills

Require 1-2 years customer-focused retail experience and PetSmart Training Instructor accreditation. Excel with strong communication, organization, computer skills, and composure under pressure. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing/walking, and exposure to pets/noise. Flexible availability for evenings, weekends, holidays essential. Vision for depth perception required.
