Role Overview

PetSmart's Pet Trainer delivers positive reinforcement-based training classes, engages pet parents, and drives sales of our proven curriculum. You'll be the go-to expert in your store, ensuring safe, fun experiences that build lifelong pet bonds. This role demands energy, pet passion, and customer focus in a dynamic retail environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead group and private training sessions following PetSmart standards.
• Actively promote and sell training packages in-store, online, and by phone.
• Handle pet parent inquiries, concerns, and outcomes professionally.
• Maintain clean, safe training areas and manage all related paperwork/scheduling.
• Recognize team sales efforts and assist in other departments as needed.
• Respond to pet health issues promptly, including vet transport if required.

Experience & Skills

Ideal candidates bring 1-2 years of customer-facing retail experience, PetSmart Training Instructor accreditation, computer proficiency, and strong communication skills. You must thrive under pressure, stay organized, and flex for evenings, weekends, and holidays. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing for shifts, and handling live animals in a moderate-noise, pet-hair-filled setting.
