Role Overview
PetSmart's Pet Trainer delivers positive reinforcement-based training classes, engages pet parents, and drives sales of our proven curriculum. You'll ensure safe, fun experiences in a dynamic retail environment, handling everything from class scheduling to emergency pet care.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide exceptional pet parent experiences via phone, in-person, or online, resolving concerns promptly.
- Actively sell and schedule training classes while educating on curriculum benefits.
- Maintain all training paperwork, cleanliness of training areas, and store safety protocols.
- Serve as subject matter expert, training associates and recognizing sales contributions.
- Handle sick/injured pets, recommend merchandise, assist other departments, and uphold company policies.
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates bring 1-2 years of customer-focused retail experience and PetSmart Training Instructor accreditation. Proficiency in computers, strong communication, organizational skills, composure under pressure, and schedule flexibility are essential. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing, and exposure to pets/noise.
