Role Overview

PetSmart's Pet Trainer delivers positive training experiences, educates pet parents, and drives class enrollment. This dynamic role combines hands-on pet interaction, customer engagement, and sales in a fun, pet-filled environment. Ideal for animal lovers with retail experience seeking flexible, rewarding work.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead training classes following PetSmart curriculum, ensuring safety and positive outcomes.
• Actively sell classes via in-store, phone, and online channels; educate on program benefits.
• Manage pet parent interactions, resolve concerns, and maintain all related paperwork.
• Keep training areas clean, schedule classes, and collaborate with store team as SME.
• Handle emergencies like sick pets, recommend services, and assist other departments.

Experience & Skills

Requires 1-2 years customer-focused retail experience and PetSmart Training Instructor accreditation. Proficiency in computers, strong communication, organization, and composure under pressure essential. Must lift 50+ lbs, stand extensively, and work flexible hours including evenings/weekends/holidays. Comfort with pets, moderate noise, and pet hair required.
