Role Overview

As a Pet Trainer at our Oswego store, you'll engage pet parents and their furry companions, delivering positive reinforcement training based on PetSmart's proven curriculum. This role combines education, sales, and hands-on pet care in a dynamic retail environment, ensuring safe, fun classes that build lasting bonds.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead in-person, phone, and online training sessions while prioritizing pet parent satisfaction.
• Actively promote and sell group/private classes, educating on curriculum benefits.
• Maintain accurate records, schedule classes, and keep training areas clean/safe.
• Serve as training expert for store associates, recognizing sales contributions.
• Respond to pet health issues, recommend services/merchandise, and assist other departments.

Experience & Skills

Ideal candidates bring 1-2 years retail/customer service experience, PetSmart Training Instructor accreditation, computer proficiency, and flexibility for evenings/weekends/holidays. Strong communication, organization, and composure under pressure are essential. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing, and handling live animals in a pet-filled environment.
