Role Overview
As a Pet Trainer in Ottawa, Ontario, you'll engage pet parents and pets, delivering positive training experiences aligned with PetSmart's vision. Educate on training benefits, sell classes, and ensure safe, fun environments while contributing to store success.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide exceptional pet parent experiences via phone, in-person, or online; address concerns promptly.
- Actively promote and sell training classes across channels.
- Deliver curriculum-based classes, maintaining safety and cleanliness.
- Manage scheduling, paperwork, and recognize associate contributions.
- Handle sick/injured pets, recommend merchandise, and assist other departments.
Experience & Skills
Required Qualifications
- 1-2 years customer-focused retail experience.
- PetSmart Training Instructor Course accreditation.
- Computer proficiency, strong communication, and organizational skills.
- Flexibility for evenings, weekends, holidays; composure under pressure.
Physical Demands
Stand/walk extensively, lift up to 50lbs (team lift 100lbs+), handle pets in moderate-noise, pet-hair environment with occasional wet areas or mechanical parts.
