Role Overview
As a Pet Trainer in Ottawa, Ontario, you'll engage pet parents and pets, delivering positive training experiences aligned with PetSmart's vision. Actively promote and sell classes while ensuring safety and exceptional service in a dynamic retail environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide outstanding pet parent experiences via phone, in-person, or online; address concerns promptly.
- Sell training classes and educate on curriculum benefits across channels.
- Maintain paperwork, schedule classes, and keep training areas clean/safe.
- Recognize associates for training sales contributions and assist other departments.
- Handle sick/injured pets, recommend merchandise, and follow all policies.
Experience & Skills
Required Qualifications
- 1-2 years customer-focused retail experience
- PetSmart Training Instructor Course accreditation
- Computer proficiency, strong communication, organizational skills
- Flexible availability for evenings, weekends, holidays
Physical Demands
Stand/walk extensively, lift up to 50lbs (team lift 100lbs+), handle pets in moderate noise/wet environments with pet hair exposure.
