Role Overview

PetSmart's Pet Trainer delivers positive reinforcement-based training classes, engages pet parents, and drives sales of our proven curriculum. You'll be the go-to expert in your store, ensuring safe, fun experiences that build lifelong pet bonds. This role demands energy, pet passion, and customer focus in a dynamic retail environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead group and private training sessions while prioritizing pet parent satisfaction and outcomes.
• Actively promote and sell training packages in-store, online, and via phone.
• Maintain all training records, schedules, and areas for cleanliness and safety.
• Handle emergencies like sick/injured pets, collaborating with vets as needed.
• Cross-train associates on training benefits and assist other departments.

Experience & Skills

Ideal candidates bring 1-2 years of customer-facing retail experience, PetSmart Training Instructor accreditation, computer proficiency, and composure under pressure. Strong communication, organization, and flexibility for evenings/weekends are essential. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing for shifts, and handling live animals in a moderate-noise, pet-hair-filled setting.
